A simple website for you and your book
You’ve written your book. Maybe it’s already out there; maybe you are about to unleash it into the world. But now someone asked, “Have you got a website?” and your stomach dropped a little, because no you haven’t, and you don’t have the time or the knowledge to sort that out.
I can build it for you.
I’m not a web developer who happens to build author sites. I’m a writer and editor first. I understand what you need your website to do. You won’t get a generic template with your name bolted on. You’ll get something simple, built by someone who understands what you’re actually trying to do with it.
What you get
A simple, two-page website:
- a profile page with your bio, your book, and a link for readers to buy it
- a contact page, so people can get in touch
That’s it. No plugins to learn, no templates to fight with, nothing to maintain unless you want to. And I’ll set up the basics so your site’s ready to be found on Google too.
It won’t do everything. It’s not trying to. It’s simply a place online where someone can find you and your book – built quickly for you by someone who will explain what’s happening, rather than leaving you to figure it out alone.
Before I can build your site
You’ll need a domain (your website address, like yourname.co.uk) and a hosting plan (where the site actually lives). These are separate, small ongoing costs that you pay directly, typically around £6.50-£8.50/year for a domain and from £3/month for hosting, plus VAT. I use and recommend WESH UK, and I’m happy to help you get set up with them (this is an affiliate link; it costs you nothing extra, but I may earn a small commission). Once that’s sorted, I can get started building your site.
Got more than one book, or want more than the basics?
This is the starting point, not the ceiling. If you’ve got a series, want a newsletter signup, or need something beyond the simple two-page site, just say so when you get in touch. We’ll figure out what you actually need and price it properly from there.
Founding offer — £149
I’m building this properly for the first five authors who come on board, at a founding rate of £149 (usually £195). Two pages – built and live, yours to keep.
Want me to keep it ticking over?
Optional maintenance from £15/month. I’ll keep everything updated and secure behind the scenes, plus up to 15 minutes each month for small changes: a new book cover, an updated bio, a fresh link. Nothing to log in and manage yourself unless you want to.
Prefer to look after it yourself?
That’s fine too. I’ll give you a short lesson and a simple guide so you can make small changes yourself, with no ongoing fee.
